50/50
Last night I watched the movie 50/50 with my mom and it was inspirational. It made me laugh and it made me cry a little. It was cute and heartwarming and inspirational. It was so real, which made it even harder to watch because it was heartbreaking too. I’m going to do my best not to give away anything in the movie because I strongly recommend you see it. But Joseph Gordon-Levitt did an incredible job personifying a man with cancer. He was only 27 years old, he was healthy his whole life, there was absolutely no reason for him to have cancer, it was just his bad luck.
It’s not fair the way that life does and doesn’t work. You can be the most perfect person in the world but you could be chosen to die way before your time. I cannot imagine finding out that I have cancer, I cannot imagine finding out that my friends or family had cancer. I wouldn’t know what to do. You want to live life normally, make sure that this person isn’t stressing out about their cancer, but it’s such a huge issue. What would you do if you found out that you had cancer? I wouldn’t know what to do. I wouldn’t be strong enough to live life and pursue all of my dreams, I would probably just sit down and cry and ask “why me?” over and over again.
Bottom line is that this movie is amazing, and it really puts life into perspective for you. I guess you just have to watch it to see what I’m talking about. My mind is jumbled right now as to what to say because it leaves you speechless but full of thoughts at the same time.
Please watch this movie, and try and learn from it. It makes you rethink your life. If today was your last day, would you be satisfied with the life you have lived? Anyway, if you’re reading this you better be smiling, because you’re living and healthy, and that’s a lot better than many other people in this world. Live life while you can, because you never know when it’s going to get the best of you.
I hope this wasn’t depressing, I wanted to make this some kind of inspiring but as I started to write I realized that I don’t know where to go with this. Just watch the movie. Thanks.
